Poor points: Very old fashioned decor and rooms. Thank you everyone - besides the girl who embarrassed me that afternoon - for a lovely stay. Must add cleaning standard is 100% and the maids so nice. Sad to see Jet 2 aren’t doing this hotel next year but Laura gave us the information to book direct. We fell in love with it and the hotel was a perfect base to do this. Super efficient ! Calella town is fabulous so much to see - and beautiful wine bars. And what a super efficient bar man he is! As was Laura on reception who had the system giving out the sun-bed token more efficient than the others. He told us lots of information about what we can do on our first day. Moham (sorry unsure if this spelling is right ) the bar tender was the best. A 5 min walk got you on the beach where the lovely guy Mamaduk looked after us. What a benefit it was the hotel providing sun beds for the beach ! Without this our experience would have been so different. The reception and bar area are rather classy, yet the pool area pretty rough!Why have such loud music ? We aren’t old but it was so much nicer to sit out there when the music was calm and not blasting! We never stayed once around the pool area because of this. We were all inclusive - just wanted a sandwich to put in the fridge for our return from the town :-( The pool area does not match the hotel standards. she definitely needs a lesson in customer service. Other than that the staff there were lovely. A bit embarrassing for me getting told off - I therefore put them back and left.
Forcefully telling me I can not take them out and must eat them in the restaurant. The reaction I got from a female restaurant worker was pretty harsh. One gripe regarding food - we decided we were not having evening meal one day and would get some sandwiches to keep in room for our return in the evening. Food very much to our taste - mainly Spanish tapas and rices. Standard rooms are fine however as stated by others the bathroom not good - we upgraded to a superior room for this reason.
Perfect location with it being so close to the town and the beach. What a lovely holiday we have had in this hotel.
